Community Workshops
Throughout the process, the City held a series of interactive community workshops on topics of citywide importance. These meetings were an opportunity for the community to come together and actively discuss topics and details regarding the General Plan. A list of workshops and workshop materials are below.
Community Workshop #1 - Visioning
The City held its first (virtual) General Plan Community Workshop on Thursday, April 29, 2021. The workshop featured an overview of the General Plan Update process, a summary of existing conditions, and a round of small group visioning exercises.

Community Workshop #2 - Land Use Alternatives
The City held its second series of General Plan Community Workshops at the following dates and times:
Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 6–8:30 PM | In-Person at the Museum of Ventura County, 100 East Main Street
Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 6–8:30 PM | Virtual over Zoom
At these workshops, the General Plan Team provided an overview of the land use alternatives, including the process of developing the alternatives. There were a variety of opportunities at both workshops for the public to ask questions and provide feedback on the land use alternatives. Public Draft General Plan Open House
To launch the public review process, the City hosted an Open House on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Residents, business owners, and community members attended to learn about the plan, ask questions, and share their feedback.
Draft Environmental Impact Report Public Open House
The City hosted an Open House for the Draft EIR on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Residents, business owners, and community members attended to learn about the document, ask questions, and share their feedback.
